Hirewriters.com is not an academic writing service. If you are looking for a research paper, term paper, custom essay, or any other type of academic custom writing, you may find it here, but it would be rare. Still, because we have users of our site who are looking for other types of writing, we did honor several requests to work on HireWriters review. We reviewed the entire Hire Writers website, products and services, pricing, any extra benefits (free or fee-based), policies and processes, and checked out what customers have had to say about their experiences over the past eight years. This is what we discovered.
Hire Writers is basically a clearinghouse. It is a place for individuals in need of custom writing to post those needs. The tasks are posted on a job board, and registered writers then “grab” them as they wish. Certainly, students can post tasks for academic writing, but essay and paper writing is not what the company actually advertises. The types of products and services the company markets are:
- rewriting and proofreading articles
- blog posts
- product descriptions
- social media profiles and postings
- more types of business-related writing
It looks as if Hire Writers focuses on web-based e-commerce custom writing. It is possible that a student could get paper or essay writing through its ghostwriting offers or get rewriting and/or proofreading of their academic papers. However, it is unlikely that registered writers have an academic background that qualifies them to produce scholarly custom writing.
Prices and Discounts
Pricing seems extremely low for even the copywriting industry. There is a chart that allows customers to choose between four levels of writers – beginners, general, skilled, and expert. Prices go up based upon these levels. We wonder who would choose a beginner writer to produce 300 words for $1.50? Clearly, the quality may not be great.4
There are obviously no company discounts. Pricing may be negotiable with the writer who has taken the project, but customers should not count on it. Prices are a lot cheaper than freelance writers on other job sites charge for the same products and number of words.
Offers and Extra Services
Hirewriters.com does not provide any special offers or extra services that students and other customers find on other content websites. The company operates as a job board, taking an administrative fee on each order that is taken on by a writer. This comes out of the writer’s fee, and this is a bit of a “bone of contention” among many writers who have provided feedback to us.
We did have some customer complaints about quality. These included bad writing, difficult time getting responses or refunds from the company or from the writer, and money put on an account that was never returned. Two customers did submit their pieces to us, and we can say they were of poor quality.
As we stated before, there are 4 levels of writers, based upon their categorization by the company. It is stated that if customers want top quality custom writing, they need to choose a writer from the upper two levels. A customer can designate which writer level he wants, and the task will only be posted on the job boards for those levels.
We are not certain what type of customer support is actually available to either customers or writers. Evidently, once a customer is registered and posting tasks, he will be put in touch with his writer on a personal account page. This is also standard practice when students order a research paper or term paper from writing services that serve them.
The company does not guarantee the quality of the work that is prepared for any customer. This is important. It does run a Copyscape plagiarism scan prior to delivery, but that is about it. Other than that, Hire Writers protects customer privacy and does turn copyright and ownership of content over to customers once they have accepted the piece of writing. For students considering placing an order for custom essay or paper writing, it should be noted that other usual guarantees are not provided.
Because we had a number of negative comments from users of our site, we checked out larger and reputable review sites – specifically, Site Jabber and Trust Pilot. Here are the reports from these two sites:
- Site Jabber has received a total of 35 reviews, from both writers and customers. The average of all reviews is 1.9 stars on a 5-point scale. Complaints from writers include not being paid, accounts being suspended for no reasons, and inability to get money on account out. Customers complain about poor quality and no recourse when they are not happy.
- There is only one review on Trust Pilot, and it is fully negative.
Pros and Cons
We can offer the following overall statements:
- Writer levels give customers a choice
- Prices are unusually cheap
- Good FAQ pages
- Writer and customer reviews are predominantly negative
- Customer support and support team agents are not responsive
- Lack of college papers offers
Students who want academic papers of any kind or expect to communicate with a good support team will not find it here. This is not an academic essay writing service. We advise that students in need of high school or college papers find another service to use.
