Grad students looking for help with their theses and dissertations may have come across DissertationCapital, because it has been in business for the past 13 years. At first, it seems that thesis and dissertation writing are the only services offered. What we discovered during our DissertationCapital review, however, was that the company offers all types of academic writing for college and grad students. Unfortunately. No student would know this until s/he got to the ordering page. Our review has included several factors – the website content and quality, testimonials and reviews on and off-site, information on writers if available, and sample writings and blog articles, if existing. As a standard check, we also ordered a research paper, in order to evaluate research and writing quality. Here is our summary.

Website Quality

The site loads quickly, and there are links at the top of the home page to navigate to other pages. There are also links a bit further down, to places such as “about us.” These, however, do not work. Visitors can get to these pages from other pages, so we were able to review the entire site.

All of the site content relates to thesis and dissertation writing and editing services. There are paragraphs with a lot of repetitive information, broken up by key benefits in larger and colored print.

One statement that the company makes is that it uses only “certified” U.S. and UK writers. Of course, there is no “certification” for writers, so that is a bit misleading for students who do not know better.

Along the right rail is a rolling series of articles about dissertation writing. We linked to a couple of these and found some of the worst writing we have seen. Obviously, ESL writers are crafting these.

Quality of Products and Customer Service

Product quality can only be measured by what customers actually say. Here is what we found:

• Testimonials posted on the Dissertation Capital site are all very positive – we expect this.
• DissertationCapital reviews that we found elsewhere on the web told a different story. Customers complained about the writing quality, most of them stating that the grammar and punctuation was bad. There were other complaints about the source materials too. They were not suitable for graduate level research works.
• Our research paper was obviously crafted by an ESL writer – very poor sentence structure and incorrect use of words. It is difficult to imagine how this company could produce theses and dissertations with such writers.

Relative to customer service, we did contact agents by phone and live chat. We asked very detailed questions about their dissertation services, and were unable to get good responses. It almost seems like they do not really understand what a dissertation is. We were also promised that a full dissertation could be produced in 5 days – This did not inspire lots of confidence.

We can say that there is no Dissertation Capital scam; but we can also say that students will not get the quality they are looking for.

Prices and Discounts

We priced several products. A dissertation of 200 pages with a 20-day deadline would be $5335.20. Our research paper of 8 pages with a 12-day deadline was $190.20. This is high, even with the 10% discount that is offered to all new customers.

Discounts are based upon number of pages, beginning with the second order. These range from 10 – 21%, depending on the number of pages for the order.

Extras

There is no page or section of a page that provides benefits. The company states that there will be unlimited revisions, and on the order form, there are three levels of writing options, two of which add cost to the order. We were told by customer service that our title, table of contents, and bibliography pages were free.

Conclusion

DissertationCapital appears to be a company owned and operated by foreigners that uses non-native English speaking writers. We cannot recommend this writing service to students who are in need of high quality research and writing.
